We're thinking of having an American flag painted somewhere on our 2002 EB convertible...don't know where or how large or how small. Does anyone know of a site that would give some samples of flags on Vettes?

Thanks...

Elaine

I don't know...

...but I do know that an American Flag on your 2002 will be COOL!
I'm thinking of the flag on the vette in the American Woman video...(hope I'm remembering correctly!)

Something like this?????????

Looked to be "airbrushed" like a motorcycle would be - I would have a custom bike shop paint my details if it were me ;)
Hope this helps :beer

I too would consider the American flag. I think the back of the Vette in the above post is too much though. Wonder what a flag on hood or front would look like if it was smaller?

Don't have a picture...

...but have one painted on the driver side nose, draped over the hood and fender with folds and ripples, as if it got caught on your vette while driving...

how about this for the american flag. you could keep it just on the hood so if they ned to get get the hood thay can and you can keep the rest.

I know the frames on the side s**k. and the car is a template for remote control car bodies so it is not detailed (i had to draw all interior lines)

I agree with Steve...that's a bit too much.

Heidi, I think that's a little more what we might be thinking of. Alan and I just remembered seeing the work of a local graphic artist at the Boston World of Wheels in January...I actually took his business card and, more surprisingly, still have it!! I think we'll call him and see what he thinks!

Thanks, everyone, for your help. I'll let you know what we end up doing.

We actually saw this car and met Bonnie in person last year at Carlisle. The car is absolutely unbelievable...beautiful!!!! Just a little too much for us...I think!

Elaine - if the local graphic artist has any pictures, ask him if you can post a link to them. I would certainly consider a flag if it is tasteful & not overpowering to the look of the car. Thanks.....

doesn't anyone have an opinion on my drawing??;shrug I know its no professional drawing oor actual picture but still...

I believe flames need to be more than one color. Narrow ones seem more professional.
Fllames are "in" again. Look at several car/truck magazines as many have them pictured.

Try some car show sites.

i know the flames suck i did them really fast my normal flames are not the best but look much better than that.

I was more so refering to what people thought of my flag Idea since GS asked for ideas on how to put the flag on his car

I (personally) don't like mixing the themes, flag and flames, but what I did like about the drawing is the symetry of the flags on the hood. Were I to want to do a project like this, it would be either/or.
Either the symetrical flags on the hood...
Or the flag artfully airbrushed on the nose, hood and driver fender as if it was caught there while driving.
I thought the ripples and shading of Bonnie's vette were nicely done, but I still think that was too much flag for my own tastes.

Also, in looking at your flames, I rather like the way they turned out. I like their shape.

Everyone has a different idea about what they like, and few people will like the same thing, when it comes to art.

CorvetteCrazy - I apologize for not commenting on your drawing! You have a talent, thats obvious - especially since you state "i know the flames suck i did them really fast my normal flames are not the best but look much better than that." Personally, I don't care for anything that overpowers the looks of the car. I want something fairly subtle.

May I Suggest....

GS Diva, I wouldn't do anything that might spoil the awesome Vette you have there especially doing something that you might regret later. Maybe you can buy a front Mask painted with a patriotic theme by a local sign shop and it wouldn't be a permanent thing. there is a vendor in the CAC PORTAL, C5reation
that sells front masks for your car. This way you can remove it whenever you want to. I did a quick photochop to show you what I mean. It's a little crude, but I think you'll get the idea.

Just a Suggestion....

75 thats a great idea to put the flag on a bra or somthing similar so it can be removed :upthumbs

thanks to everyone for the comments. BTW if any one describes a design thay would like draw up I can make better drawings at different angles for you.
