I have a new set of rotors that I want to paint and they will be stored for approx 6 months. What is a good kind of paint to use and what can I use on the pad surfaces to keep them from rusting till the car is finished?

An aerosol product in a blue can called "LPS 3" is a great rust preventative ... quickly flashes off to leave a gummy protectant ... check your hardware stores. I wouldn't paint until I'm nearly ready to install ... the solvents used to clean off protectant may damage the paint.

I think it would be ok to paint the fins and centers and then spray em down with some lps or some penetrant. The penetrant will either mostly evaporate or you can just wipe the pad surface when you install them
