Passenger window acting up

About two weeks ago my passenger side window was acting up with the switch on the door, but worked fine with the switch on the drivers door so I let it slide. Today it stopped working with either switch. It will move a small amount occasionally if I keep trying it. It didn't seem to be moving slow and wasn't making any strange noises before it started acting up. My question is where do I start looking for the problem? or do you think the motor is going south on me. The car is a 93 coupe and I'm a novice mechanic so please go slow so I can understand. Thanks in advance. Tim

the motor could be bad... first i would clean the rail inside your door panel, you have to take the door panel off and then remove the little plastic piece and you should a copper rail, at least thats how it is on mine, you might have to look for a little bit, but clean that thing up of all the dirt thats on there, and add a little grease and you should be good, if not then its probably the motor...

Don't forget the switch

The current goes through both switches (I think) on it's way to the window. Mine stuck down so I took the switch apart and took a file to the points. It was just to get the window up until I could get a new switch. That was in Aug of 2002. When it stops again I probally will buy that new switch.
