The passenger window on my 96 Coupe has a vertical scratch that has formed near the front of the glass panel at the bottom. Any ideas what is causing this ? How hard is the door panel to remove ?

Something to check

Please roll window down all the way. Next look down through weather strip on interior and exterior sides where scratch is being created on glass. You may have a rivet or fastener loose.
There is a product that will smooth out glass scratches. I will look for it later.

I had this same thing happen to me just after an accident in which my driver's door was damaged. The cause was a screw that was used to hold on the exterior mirror was just a tad too long and resulted in the scratch. Good luck with it.

it's a glass polishing kit from Ecklers. I've used it with success on my rear window. Be sure to follow the instructions closely though so as not to damage the glass.

I just noticed this item in Eckler's today and was going to order it for my husband's '74 which has marks on the passenger window that are more like abrasions. It sounds like it just might work!

Scratches often form when the guides fail... it could be from a previous failure, or a guide could be on its last leg now... check it out before it is too late:)
