I’ve been away for a while, but I’m back—and back with an irritating problem.
Question: How do I disable the PKE?
Situation: When I bought my 95 Vette it came with no FOBs. The PO had a Viper alarm system installed which has its own FOBs, so I never bought any. Lately, my PKE light comes on and stays on every time I start and drive the car. When I turn off ignition and remove key, then put key back in, the light will turn off… Until I start the car and begin driving, then it comes back on.

Bottom line, I would like to keep this light from coming on, but don’t want to mess up any other device that the PKE may control. With the aftermarket alarm system, I don’t need the factory one.
Please help… This is very annoying and seems to drain my battery.
Ps, when I start the car and sit idle, within a few seconds the door lock system cycles and keeps unlocking over and over and over. Is this a related issue?
