MOORESVILLE, N.C. IndyCar star Danica Patrick will compete in at least 12 NASCAR races this season and could make her debut in the season opener.

JR Motorsports announced Patrick's schedule Thursday. Her first race, though, is still uncertain. Patrick is waiting to decide whether to race in the Nationwide Series opener at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 13.

The team says it will decide after Patrick makes her stock car debut in the Feb. 6 ARCA race at Daytona. If she feels comfortable, she could race the following week in NASCAR's second-tier series. It would be a daunting NASCAR start considering more than a dozen Sprint Cup regulars, including team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr., drive in that one.

"Like I've said before, we just want to be smart and calculative about this process," Patrick said. "The tracks we've selected not only compliment the IndyCar schedule, but will give me quality seat time at a variety of facilities."

If Patrick doesn't drive the Nationwide race at Daytona, she will make her debut the following week in Fontana, Calif.

Her remaining schedule includes Las Vegas (Feb. 20), a four-month hiatus to focus on the IndyCar Series and her return to NASCAR at New Hampshire (June 26).

She also will race in Chicago (July 9), Michigan (Aug. 14), Dover, Del. (Sept. 25), Fontana (Oct. 9), Charlotte (Oct. 15), Madison, Ill. (Oct. 23), Texas (Nov. 6), Phoenix (Nov. 13), and Homestead, Fla. (Nov. 20).

I might watch 1 or 2 races to see how she does, but her becoming a nascar driver
STILL isn't enuf to bring me back to watching it like I did years ago.....

Jim, I take it that you aren't happy with Danica driving in NASCAR? What's up with that? She seems to be a capable driver to me...not that I am any kind of expert.

Tom she's never become a great Indy Car driver and it just seems to me that the media acts like there's just one car and driver in the race when they cover any race she's entered in. Stock Car racing has just become a shell of it's former self and the coverage of NASCAR racing with a underwear model trying to race a car is just making it more of a joke! If she was a great driver in her current series would be one thing, but she's not. She's more a creation of the media than anything else. The prosecution rests!

Now you fellas are teasing an old man .You've gone and screwed up my pacemaker.:mad

Truthfully does it really matter if Danica can drive or not?:D

If I we're only 70 years younger------------

OK Jim you made a good point. And I will absolutely agree with you on how NASCAR isn't what it used to be. Frankly, I don't watch or am the least bit interested in NASCAR. They all look the same to me, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, etc they all look alike and they darn sure don't look like any stock cars put out by the manufacturers today. I'm just guessing that this might have something to do with the waning of popularity in the sport (as I understand that's happening).

Which brings me to Danica. Whether or not she is a good driver is really beyond me. I think that her move to NASCAR has a lot to do with her being an attractive female (hard to deny that after seeing the picture D posted) working in what has typically been a male dominated sport. Sure the viewers are going to come back. And Media has a lot to do with it....everything IMO. Professional drag racing is really no better. And I don't really care the direction it has gone either. They have Angel (whatever her name is) the Pro-Stock Bike driver, not sure what happened to the two gals that were in the Top Fuel class a couple years ago. If they aren't good enough to make it in the sport it seems that they end up victims of attrition, which is the way it ought to be.......maybe they all are swimsuit models now. ;shrug Trust me I don't want to see Tony Stewart, or Jr. or any other race driver in a swim suit. :puke

In the end, it won't get me to watch, or care any more about it. So I don't really care. I just wanted to hear your perspective. :thumb

On that NASCAR show on Speed TV last night they said that she may add Daytona in addition to the ARCA race. But what difference does it make to you? You're boycotting remember?:L

I'll check with her husband ,we have a lot in common .Yep ,we're both old :D

So as I read it she will be in the ARCA race at Daytona which should be just prior to the Bud Shootout Sat night. Am I correct ?????:D
