I need to hook up the pcv valve on my 383. I'm not sure where I'm supposed to hook it up to since the previous owner removed it and just left the grommet in place. I have a breather and oil filler on the driver's side and the opening for the pcv valve on the passenger side. Does the pcv valve connect to the air cleaner ( which is an edlebrock aftermarket ) or does it connect to the carb vaccuum port? The breather also doesn't connect to anything. Looks like it just is an open breather. Is that ok? don't see any connection on it. Thanks

They usually connect to the base of the carb somewhere. If it is an Edelbrock carb, there is a 3/8" connector tube on the front of the carb for the PCV Valve. Its going to depend on the type of carb you have on the car. The breather connects to the air cleaner on later cars.

I have a holley 650 with a 3/8 connection in the back where the brake vaccuum goes. Can I tie into that line with a tee or will it cause a conflict with the brake booster?

Nope, you don't want those two together - can result in oil vapors in the brake booster. The PCV valve goes in the driver's side valve cover with a hose to the 3/8" port on the carb, and the power brake vacuum comes from a fitting screwed into the intake just behind the carb (if the secondary float bowl of the carb is in the way of that fitting, Edelbrock makes a special low-profile vacuum fitting that will clear it). The passenger side valve cover hole gets a grommet and hose to the bottom of the air cleaner.

I'll look into that low profile vaccuum fitting since I can't use the original fitting. As you said, the float bowl is in the way.I'm using an Edelbrock manifold so that should work fine. The breather I have doesn't seem to have a vaccuum fitting. The one that was on my original engine didn't have one either.

The original air cleaner should have had an elbow in the bottom for the large vent hose (not a vacuum hose) that goes to the passenger side valve cover. :)

If you don't have your original air cleaner, Edelbrock also offers an elbow that can be bolted on to the bottom of the aftermarket variety. You'll need to drill small holes to allow air flow and to fasten the elbow. From there you can connect your vent hose to the elbow fitting on the right-hand valve cover that JohnZ described.
