:mad :madMy 87 Coupe was repainted the same color before I bought it (Dark Red Metallic). The clearcoat is peeling in several places and, frankly, it looks terrible. I wash the car weekly and wax it once every 3 months. Where the clearcoat is not peeling, it shines like crazy. Anyway of stopping the peeling? :confused :confused

needs to be redone right!!!

sounds like the paint job wasn't done right. You're way out in PR and I don't know anything about your area.

But I have a friend who is an expert on Vette(fiberglass) painting and basically it's not done like a metal surface paint. The glass is originally 'impregnated' with the color, i.e. it's plastic rememebre.

You can really repaint or even 'touch up' a surface like the Vette.

I've seen a couple of good books like Haynes, etc. that have sections on how to properly touch up a Vette's paint job.

But if you're looking to get the whole thing repaint, or even a big section, then basically you just need to find a shop that know's what they are doing.

Good luck.
