VetteRed91 - how did the rear end change go?

Vader86 - isn't the 3.73 gear ratio change for the standard tranny?

Update - added the maximum airflow foil just 'cause. Went on the freeway and deliberately ran at high revs. IMHO, it is noticeable. I do a lot of freeway driving and I like knowing that the car can do what is asked when asked. If you've ever driven in British Columbia you probably know that we have some really wierd on/off ramps - not like the more sensible system you seem to have in the States (not to mention your much more sensible posted speeds).

Rotozip is a great tool! Cut through the metal slats like butter. I'm not sure if I notice any real difference but the engine sounds different - a little better IMHO.

Throttle performance switch.....hmmmm....never thought about that one. I'll look into it.

Now that leaves me with changing the rear end. I think I'll drive my car for a bit before making the decision. I like the way it runs now - got more pep and that's what I was looking for.

I hope people keep this thread going (for a little longer anyway). Learning what other people have done and what their opinion on the result is very interesting (and helpful to me).

the throttle perf. switch plugs right into your stock sensor. Its in Mid-America part number 609-199

What is it's function and what's the theory of operation (what makes it do whatever it is suposed to do)?

some how it adjust the computer setting when u r into 60% of your acceleration. In fact they don't reccomend it if you have changed the computer chip in your car.

The "throttle performance switch" just "fools" your ECM into thinking the TPS is at WOT before it actually is.

Personally I think it's a ripoff...but that's just my opinion.

Hi there,

After 2 1/2 days it´s done; I can´t believe I did it! (hard work)
Now I have the 3.54 rear axle instead of the stock 2.59, and did change the stock coil for the MSD blaster. Tomorrow I´ll put on the adjustable fuel pressure regulator and that´s it! (all this came last wednesday with the Richmond Ring & Pinion from Jeg´s) (exellent service)

Ann; if you do this rear end trick you are going to love it! I spend the last year and a half reading & asking almost everything about it and in the main time I was doing little mods, first to the L98 and latter to the LT1 and now I am sure this should be the first vette mod to make! :cry
Right now I am in the break in period (500 miles) but I have a little taste of it and have to wait before I can go to the dragstrip and let you know some numbers. I was becoming a top speed addicted (dangerous & stupid) Just tell me who needs 165 mph top speed with this numbers at the track: 15.080" @ 91.98? ¡My L98 was fastest!

Just one more thing; before you buy or do any mods to your vette ¡post it! there is very nice people in here that knows a lot about vettes!

4.10 is the usual upgrade for the 6speed.

3.54 or 3.73 for the automatic, with a 2400-2600 stall converter, will put you in the 12s in an LT1. 3.73 though only if gas mileage is not a major concern and you dont do alot of hwy driving.

The TPS switch only fools the computer into opening the TB butterflys earlier than it would if you just smashed the pedal. It would only give slight increases in throttle response, not HP. I personally think its a stupid mod, you can simply put your foot on the gas and do the same thing.

If you have a 94, and you want her to jump off the line, change the rear gear ratio to 3.73 in the automatic, or 4.10 in the 6speed.

Youll really feel the engine's power then.
