Anyone tried any performance tuing of the E4ME carb? Things like drilling four small holes in the secondary fuel tubes or anything else that can be done to older QJets? I know abou the different secondary needle hanger available.

I picked-up a E4ME carb off the Corvette Forum, thinking it was probably junk...just to try some things with. The carb turned out to be fine except needing the choke pull-off replaced. Cleaned it up and put a kit into it...and was wanting to try different performance things.

However if someone is in need of a replacement carb, I will go ahead and sell this one before I do anything to it for $100.

I did about everything that was writen in Cliff's and Doug's books (about the same as Sensei did with his q-jet).

At this point the primaries are perfect but they already were, with the ECM control.
The secondaries are running rich (8:1) with CH rods so Cliff is making me leaner rods.

Greetings Peter

Sensei,
Followed that thread of yours....still not sure though what exactly it is that you have done. I know the secondary rods can be replaced...but what else?

Thanks,
Lanny

Forget about the above....went back and found the thread with all the things to do.

All the tips are in both Doug's and Cliff's Q-jet books. :)

I would say you can also adjust the lean and right mixture tops (as long as you still get it at 14.7:1). You can replace the secondarie hanger, replace or modifie the acc. pump for more or less fuel. etc etc.

Greetings Peter
