I just had a question a week ago about the gear drive thing, and was told that the cam that our car's have are different that the ones back in those day's.
We have Hydralic roller cams and back in those day's it was just hydralic cam's, no rollers so from what I got, theres a brace or something like that, that holds the cam in at the opening where you'd put the timing chain/gears on at, that brace would be in the way of the old style gear drive, you'd have to get one thats made for the L-98 engine.
I'm sure though that if I'm not 100% correct that someone will chime in to set us both straight.

So do you think this drive would be OK for street use?????
Let me know.....
thanks

If you'd like the noise, I do!:J
Heres a tip that I just learned tonight, unscrew the Knock sensor and put some teflon tape on the thread's and screw it back into the block, instead of tighting it back to 14 lbs, put it at 12lbs, this will make it less sensetive to the gear drive.
I've heard though with out having to do this, that it doesnt in most cases set off the knock sensor.
I'm saving up some cash and I plan on getting one from a member of a different forum soon for only $100.00 bucks never used.
Hope this help's.
remember, the one that you had mentioned, I dont think will fit your engine, and I'd hate to see you take all that stuff off for nothing, do some research, I could be wrong.

I put the noisy Pete Jackson's in my '85 which had a stock motor. Worked perfectly and sounded awesome! If I ever get another L98 car, I'm going to do it again......:D
