What do you think is the problem…the PHOTOCELL, SWITCH or BOTH? With the switch OFF The screen is DARK (or very little ambient light) Turn the switch ON and the dash lights up wonderfully. But when I turn the switch to lower and increase the ambient light, nothing happens. The dash lights remain bright but will not manually dim or increase. If I put my finger over the photocell, nothing happens…even with the headlights ON or OFF If I shine a flashlight onto the photocell, again no difference or change. If it is the photocell, can I pick one up at an electronics store?

THis is a shot in the dark but...no pun intended....here's what my manual says. If any of the "warning indicator lights" come on, then the "maximum display brightness" will occur until the warning indicator problem is addressed. Neither the rheostat or a flashlight to the photocell will change the display brightness...... Seems kinda funny that both your stat and photocell went at the same time.....might mean you just have a burned out blub in the warning lights....

just my .02....
