Just checking in to say hello and to mention how excited I am to be picking up my Collectors Edition LT4 convertible tomorrow. It has a little over 22000 miles on it and a clean Carfax report. I found a 3 year /100000 mile warranty including wear/tear coverage & seal leakage for $1499. with 1 Source. I used to own an85 coupe and have a NCRS Top Flite 396 coupe for sale. Anyway, just want to say hello to everyone and if I have questions hope they won't seem toooooo dumb!

Congrats on your purchase. I am also looking for this particular car, except, that I want a coupe.

I haven't found one that is up to par. Most have high mileage with a high asking price.

If you found any others that you were considering, I would appreciate the help.

thanks in advance.

lt46spd,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center...and congratulations on your '96 Collector Edition!! You'll love it, I'm sure.

I haven't been looking for a coupe, but I suggest AutoTrader.com It is a good site with lots of cars. Ken

First of all, Thanks to all who have welcomed me. I'm retired early from State Farm here in Bloomington. I'm an avid Cubs, Bears, and Corvette fan. I'm really disappointed they moved Bloomington Gold somehow its not the same. As for my car its a low mileage jewel with the rare{so I'm told} spare delete. It has the 3.45 rear end{not sure if thats good or bad}, sports leather seat, inflatible driver and passenger, Bose Gold CD/Cassette, low pressure tire monitoring system to name a few options. The price was fairly reasonable and since I wanted the Collectors Edition Convertible was worth the somewhat extra I paid. A dealer friend of mind said the Collectors Edition Convertible with the LT4 was a wise choice. I guess only time will tell. Happy trails, Ken

When I went looking for my 96CE LT4 Coupe last year I had great luck looking on Ebay and Used Corvettes for Sale.com. Good Luck with the search.

Is that you and your lady in Jackson Square in my lovely N'Awlens? Where on the Coast is home ?

Thats my drummer, Cheri, in the pic. We live in Ocean Springs, although Susan and I just closed on a new house in Biloxi. Be in it by the first of next month.

We had just finished a gig at the Tropical Isle on Bourbon Street the night before, then crashed at the apartment across the street, got up early the next day and did a photoshoot in New Orleans before we had to get back to the MS Coast for another gig that night.

Here are the pics:

Great photos; both of you look pretty good after doing a late night gig in the "Big Easy".
I also saw the new photos of your LT4 and will be looking for it when I pass through Biloxi.

Welcome!

Welcome lt46spd,
this is a great site to learn about your new car. I’ve had my LT4 since ‘98 and I am still finding useful info on this forum. You can never know enough when it comes to taking care of you pride and joy.

sj20343,
I noticed that you are from Texas, (an awesome state, I might ad). Have you checked with Corvette Palace to see if they can find what you are looking for? Don’t know how close they are to you, but here is a link to their site.

Good luck in your search for your CE coupe!

Well I got home at 2:00 am. Drove from Pittsburg to Bloomington, Il. The car is everything I thought and hoped it would be. It ran very well, everything works, and it made a long drive actually fun. It is even quiet for a convertible! Anyway, made it home in one piece and thats the main thing! The weather was bad at times so I washed it today and managed to find the strenght to wax it even though I don't think it really needed it. Tried Zymol wax and it was easy to apply and hand buff out. Reads as though it is a very high quality wax so we'll see. I use Zymol car wash too. Both have lots of natural ingredients besides carnuba wax. Anyway, I'm glad to be home. Ken
