...no, not your nose...

Driving the vette in to work this morning (I nearly forgot how much fun the vette is...just got the water pump replaced, so I hadn't driven it for several weeks...since before X-mas) and I was flowing with traffic (sort of). The usual happens, the driver in front of me is going a little slower than I like while the "fast" lane moving passed him soundly. The typical fast lane, 5 to 6 cars grouped together with some space between themselves.

FLC = Fast Lane Car...

FLC1 goes by...
Me, mumbling to myself: "Damn jag-off in front of me needs to 'git-out-the-way'!"
FLC2 goes by...
Me, mumbling to myself: "Hmmmm..."
FLC3 goes by...
Me, mumbling to myself: "Not this one."
FLC4 gioes by...
Me, mumbling to myself: "My turn!" :naughty:
WOT! :lou (WOT = Instant gratification!)
I'm by slow poke and back into that lane.
FLC5 & 6 go by...
:upthumbs

That is all...carry on. ;)

Feels good doesn't it? Rhetorical question!
Of course it feels good.
When I had my car painted a couple months ago, I waited 5 weeks for that thing! Meantime, I drove my 98 saturn which I call the squirrel master, because it's squirrel powered.
But that first morning I drove it again to work, as you say, Instant Gratification! :upthumbs I was smiling all day!
So, just get out there and drive!

I too enjoy the LT-1 kickdown blastoff. It's hard enduring traffic hijinx operating such a superior machine. Those with power carry responsibility. We must constantly try to remember that. Driving to work is so much more interesting in the Corvette.

I am trying to only use it for fun but it's just tempting to fire it up and be Master of the Universe among all the poor working stiffs.:lou

I've become a big fan of on-ramps...:D especially w/ a nice wall on one side for my added sonic enjoyment! :D

I know exactly what you're talking about! We had 22 Vettes out yesterday for a beautiful cruise from Colorado Springs down to Canon City. The Salida leg was nixed because of snow, but part of the group ate lunch in Canon and then had a *spirited* drive to Westcliffe and back (I was sorry I had to miss that part!). On the way back to COS, however, I had several opportunities to downshift to fifth, hit the throttle, and do a fly-by. My favorite saying when I'm driving: "Woo hoo!" Glad you enjoyed your drive to work today!

A very spirited drive in to work, it was!

I don't know how everyone's taste in music is here, but I you like go hard fast Rock music I would DEFINITELY suggest cranking the volume up to 11 with driving and jamming to Nickelback's "Animals".

Wahhoooo! What a rush it was this morning!!

BTW, I love that quote from Spinal Tap - "But, it goes to eleven!" :_rock

OHH YEAH!
I tend to cruise at 70-73mph or at or barely above the posted speed limits, but rarely exceed them by more than 1-3mph
the wife tends to drive FASTER
I cringe at the speeds she drives at times, its not the SPEED, its the thought of the fines if she gets busted!!!!!

and I can never understand the RICERS who pull up beside you at 70mph and rev a 1-4 liter engine thinking they impress you, fart can exausts and stickers just don,t impress a corvette with 500 ft lbs of tq and similar hp (before the 200hp GIGGLE GAS BUTTON GETS DEPRESSED)

hi guys,
i know what you guys mean for sure!
what a buzz,hey!
who needs drugs to get a high?
just drive a vette and there is your buzz!
i just love showing up these stupid dum holden commodore clubsports (4 doors)(gto) you call them there, here in australia with there chev engines they think they are so dam good, but there not!
i call them try hards and wannabees!
they can never compete with a vette with our sleek, low, fast, good looks!
they will never be a corvette!
but yep as i state "vettes are the best, chuck out the rest"
have a good one guys
cheers
