Ok, here is the new setup. I will be installing it this weekend. What you see here is the Edelbrock Performer 1406 carb mated to the Performer 2101 manifold. Look closely and you will see the carb is secured with 8 5/16 18 1” grade 8 chrome plated allen heads. I know it is overkill but I am all about the details. Next you cam see a pair chrome plated ½ NTP plugs in the unused holes in the front, Moroso part #39153. I also used three 5/16 18 5/8” grade 8 chrome plated allen heads to block off the other unused holes. I considered filling them with epoxy, but you never know right. More to come…

Very nice I guess u drilled the Carb to do 8 bolts.
Be sure to run a solid fuel line between the carb and fuel pump to ensure you never leak gas and have a fire .

Looks real good Iwas going to use the 21011 polished with the thunder series 1806.I keep getting asked why am I getting away from the Qjet what would be your reply Thanks

Nice....

I have a few questions for ya since Im thursty for knowledge. What was the price on the manifold(intake right?) and the Carb? Whats the cfm on the carb? How much HP do you think you should get out of that? And will it have a negative effect on your MPG?

Im looking to do these same mods w/in the year so it would really be helpful. Thanks

Let us know what she runs like after you install it.
I am thinking of doing the same to our 81 Coupe here in Australia, as the Holley 650 CFM Double Pumper we have on her has just been tuned by my expert carby bloke and even he says it is crap!
He agrees with me that I should change back to the Q Jet or a Holley 750 CFM Vac Sec. That way I'll have the air flow and won't put out the fire when the double pumper pumps too much fuel in there.
He says the double pumper would better suit a big block!

Let us know, drop us an email.

Cheers :beer

Bill , i like the details you have on your set-up. please let me know how it runs after you get it dialed in. also i am curious to know what you need to go thru to tune it. i have the same manifold, but with a holley carb. i am not having good luck gettting it to work the way i expect.
i would appreciate any helpful hints.

keep up the good work..

Well it all cost me just under $500.00 if you include gaskets and the RTV silicone, ARP head bolts and such... Once done I will post some new pics!

I've been using the same setup since 97. It runs great without ever a problem.
