I finally got some pics from someone who went on the Power Tour. This is the first C8 (not prototype, but first produced). It's a '94 convertible located in Florida. It has many of the prototype parts like the plexiglass headlight covers (although it isn't wearing them in the pic). Very cool!

89x2, did your friend ever come through with the pics?

So what is the base car, a Camaro or a Corvette, sure looks a good bit like a Camaro from the picture

I have a magazine article somewhere that talks about how this car came to be. Hmmmm but which box is it in? I'll see if I can find it.

If i remember it correctly it's a Z28 Camaro as a base..

Thanks for the pics.. I love the way they did the Callaway at the rear, replacing the Camaro there. :cool

If you have more pics of C8's, pls share.

Is it the magazine you have on your webshots account? I came across it your gallery once; one of my favorite images is on that spread that says "Back at Fort Callaway" with the Vettes, C8, and C9 :)

-82ColEd--- I have so many pictures of C8s that I'd fill up anywhere I know of online. Do you know of an easy to use website where I could host 100+ pics? I've never used photobucket, think it'd work?

Yep absolutly.. www.photobucket.com gives you 1GB (about 10000 pics, they claim) of space, so restrain yourself :L

Do you have a link to info page of the C8, stats, etc ? I've never came across the C8. Thanks !!

Thanks - the whole www.callawayownersgroup.com website is/has been under construction since 2002 in various forms/stages :cool

Brangeta asked about the C8 (Camaro), C9 (Impala), and C7 Callaways - and if they could be incorporated into the site. Sure!
He has been helpful w/ some details and info so be sure to look for more over the coming months - thanks for checking it out! :beer

Hey 82ColEd, I've been writing an article about C8s that I should finish in a week or so if I ever get a chance to finish it. I think I'm done with the 1st gen of them, but haven't written anything about the 2nd gen of them.

I'll upload my images to photobucket sometime this afternoon if I get a chance. Hopefully I can just bulk-upload them. If it's one at a time... I may just pick and choose which I want to add.

I think that was it.

Is that the car the guy on callaway's official website is selling? Or is his just a SNAT Camaro? I emailed him, but thought you might know.

Thanks for uploading them all.. Wow.. Do any of you have a quick and dirty stat as to:
How many were built?
Are they still being built (ie. can i take my Z28 to Callaway and have them redo it)?
Anyone know a price for the mod?

As you can tell, i have no clue.. ;)

This is what my car would look like as a C8:

Mmmhh.

:cool Cool Info!!

Keep us updated on the article, would love to read it..

I don't have a clue how many were built. The owner of a supernatural Camaro (not a C8) told me 18, but I don't know if that is true.

You can definitely still have it done, I have a price list Callaway sent me that I could upload... I'll do that in a few minutes, check the album I linked to earlier.

I think the total is between $40,000 and $60,000 depending on a lot of factors like whether you do it yourself and what you want. When I have mine made, I'm most likely going to leave the SNAT engine for last and do everything else first. I talked to Callaway via email awhile back and they told me they could put in a different engine all together if I wanted, so that's cool. I might get one of those new GM V8s with displacement on demand instead so I could save gas.

Your Camaro is Sebring Silver metallic? So is my sister's.

It's a '95 Z28 hardtop. I plan on buying a museum quality/under 15,000 mile '96 Z28 in the same color as the base for my C8 ('96 was better because electrical problems were fixed and it had dual catalytic converters). My sister's has slight front end damage as you can see in the pic near the black headlight accents, so I'd like to be able to replace her front and rear bumper with pieces I won't need any longer. That way her car would look new :).

My mom has an '02 Camaro SS 35th Anniversary Edition.

So it's going to be really awesome when I get my Nassau Blue metallic C8 made and we're all parked at the same house sometime. :D

:cool A whole Camaro Family..

Yeah, mine is Sebring Silver, 159k miles, no major damage (i had one tap to the front nose, and a deer in the rear quarter, but they are fixed with nothing to see). 1997, leather, pwr, t-top, the whole shabang.. My wheels are different though.. And no front license plate/holder.. :D

And for the record: It is my wives car ! I only get to drive it daily. :gap
She bought it in 1997, and we're only engaged then, it's in her name, but she hardly get's to drive it, she has the wagon (a silver Magnum RT awd)to get groceries, and thats in my name.. :L..

I really like that Gen Camaro. The only spoiler i ever cared for as it's integrated.. :_rock

Of course, in my head i am putting my C8 together (Not seriously.. ;) ).. Leave the nose as is, and the wheels. Have the engine redone, make it a "Sleeper-Callaway" in a Z28 body.:lou :naughty:

:w

PS: Just found a pic of the wheels, 5-spoke, alloy.. Click

There should be a C8 running around somewhere with the stock Camaro front bumper. Never seen it, but in my gallery I have a pic of a red Camaro with the C8 front bumper only, so they must have done some trading because you have to buy the ENTIRE bodykit.

On my C8 I plan on having Bridgestone runflats (the 3 spoke directional wheels on some of the C8s in pics... I remember the white one with the shark on the side having them in particular) unless I have trouble finding them. In that case, I may have some similar wheels created on one of those milling computer machines. Nassau blue paint, perhaps with a touch of mystic teal mixed in, 6 speed paddle-shift transmission if a kit that fits correctly comes out (right now you can only do that with the stock 4 speed, but our A4 transmissions get damaged when shifted manually, so it's not a good idea). The Brembo brakes package, but only if the front and rear brakes are both drilled and similar size (the black C8 on purple background has small rear brakes strangely). Airbag suspension so I can have the car lowered 2 inches to look cool, but raise it for driving (my Mom's SS is lowered 2 inches and the exhaust pipe bottoms out on speedbumps). White leather interior with accents similar to those on the original C8s. And a custom hood fiberglassed to look similar to the one on a Corvette C6. There's probably some things I left off, but I'm tired of typing. You can see the photoshop rendering of what I want below. Everything is there except the Corvette style hood.
