Every now and then, Chevrolet's Corvette Team rolls out a new Corvette color that sort of takes your breath away when you first see it. The new Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat for the 2021 Corvette is one of those colors.
While it may not be as bold as the new Silver Flare Metallic now available, it isn't any less elegant and stunning to see in person.
Like Silver Flare, the new Red Mist is a pearlescent color unlike other metallic colors available. The metallic flake embedded in the paint is very fine giving it the appearance of a luxurious satin sheet.
Difficult to photograph, the color is constantly shifting while the light slowly changes as you walk around the car. Under florescent lighting, the color takes on a stunning metallic blood-like hue while the lower parts of the car become more subdued with indirect lighting.
If you get a chance to see one in direct sunlight or showroom lighting, stand back a bit and check out the area on the side of the see-through engine cover if it's a coupe. The body lines of a C8 coupe in Red Mist Metallic create a stunning satin sheet of redness that's truly a feast for the eyes!
