can anyone host pictures? each about a half meg - one meg in size?

i know you guys want to see this car........although the damn owner didn't clean it

if you can host the pics, email me at stevie.maksymyk@mts.ca

I can host a few of them, but Im leaving town in a few hours.

You can upload them individually to this forum. Enter your file location at the bottom of the screen (in the "post reply" screen") The forum will automatically upload the file from that location provided that it is less than 65kB.

I'm dying to see what this thing looks like! :beer

Was it driveable? Could you at least start it or is it in pieces?

the files are over a half meg in size, i'm going to try to shrink them down, but I haven't had a chance here at work to do that yet

the car was buried under a pile of boxes (i'm so ()%*()#* mad at the owner), the engine and tranny were out, the hood is destroyed, the turbo is stored in a different building, but the paint was great, the top was perfect, the frame was great, the interior was immaculate
i can't believe the guy didn't even wash the car before I came there..........stupid hillbilly

i will work on the pictures for everyone, but I can email them individually if anyone would like to discuss the car more, I am thinking of buying it

i'm doing heavy research right now, but not having a lot of luck

you have to understand there is ten years worth of dust laying there too, there is very little rust on the frame

Let me know if you are interested in buying two Callaway intercoolers for it. They are used and not in pristine condition but are probably better than what you have there.

Did you buy this?

I'm missing what happened to the car. I thought the original post stated the hood was vandalized? Then the "wing nut" who owns it pulled the car apart and never put it back together?

There is a whole lot more going on than a damaged hood. The motor looks trashed. Am I seeing the picture correctly that seems to show an entire chunk missing out of the plenum? Also, if Callaway wanted $43K to put it back together something is up.

You can buy a really nice twin turbo for around $25K that hasn't been apart. If you get that one for say $5k I'm guessing it's going to be at least $20K to make it right. So you might break even if you don't mind having a car with a bit of a strange history.

i haven't bought the car yet, or even made an offer, but I'm trying to gauge the scope of the project

as far as I know, the engine internals are fine.....the car wasn't running when the wiring started smouldering
although I'm sure that the engine could use a freshening to get it running properly

i'm sending a trustworthy friend/mechanic to the worksite to find out the condition of the intercoolers and microfueler module, and I will let you folks know how that turns out

i have a pic of the two turbos that are stored in a box off to the side, they still spin

Take a good long look at the RAMS HORN in the pic that shows the front of the engine. It's not the color I'm talking about. This Callaway looks like a fun project. I can hear it crying out- SAVE ME! Good Luck and thanks for sharing!!!!

This car looks pretty bad to me... on a different view of things, If this was any other car, even one with a sticker price of $50k plus, the car would have been parted out by now. I think the only reason it is still around in its condition is because it is a callaway. I really can't see how financially anyone could make out rebuilding this car. The parts alone will cost a fortune, not to mention any labor needed.

Another thing to think about are the parts this guy has.... if the Turbos are in a different building, how many parts got lost in the shuffle over the years?

maybe by using all of the information i gathered, I can get the owner to negotiate for a rediculously low price

what if (and I know it's a "what if"), i got the car for super cheap <$5K, could I just buy a hood, put a different motor in it, and drive it for fun, and keep the turbo off to the side until I can figure out what to do with it........i mean, $5K for a perfect car without a motor and hood, isn't too bad itself

i cling to this car so much because it is rare, and should be used for something, whether it's parts or whatever
