pilot job

Does any one know the meaning of pilot job? It is printed on the inside covers of my covertable top posts...............have asked people at meets and can get no answer....... do i have one of the 1st 68 coverts built?????? littleleo

hello, in the vette magazine (dec 03) issue the question of pilot vehicles came up. "pilot vehicles are normally pre-productionand,if numbered would likely have a VIN that would end in a sequence of zeros with two digits at the end."
if you VIN number is such then you have an early vehicle. or ,more likely, the top itself was a preproduction test..

where exactly are the words printed?? I have an Oct 67 built 68 convertible and would like to see if mine is the same......maybe we can figure this out together..........
