I have the Goodyear F1 GS tires on my vette. They look to be very similar to the F1 AS tread pattern, and since I cannot find any reference to the F1 GS tires anymore I suspect the AS are replacements.
I dont auto cross my car and am not bona fide tire tester, but I will give the F1 GS tires an excellent dry weather recommendation.
I've never driven my vette in the rain, so I dont know how they respond. But on dry pavement these tires stick. I have about 5k on the rear tires, about 20k on the front and the tread wear has been excellent. I have a brand new pr of F1 GS tires that I will replace the front with, and keep the 2 removed as spares. I picked up 4 new tires last spring on ebay for $150 a pc. Compare that with the $1200 for a set of 4 F1 D3's that I was getting estimates for at the time and I think I did pretty good.
I was looking for a tire that would be very good at cornering on the twistys, I live near a curvy mountainous canyon roads, yet not wear out within 20k miles like some of the super sticky soft compound tires on the market. I use my car for fun and commuting to work about half the time. The Goodyears are great for that.
