PKE Problems 1995 Vette Base Coupe

I have a problem with the PKE on my car.

Problem: Range is low, works only at rear hatch (within 10") and at driver door (within 10"). The issue is that the range on the PKE is very low and doesn't work at all at the passenger door. Additionally the system arms after 5 seconds, even if the keys are in the car (just before being put into the ignition). The system arms before I can exit the car, after shutting it off and removing the key.

I have attempted to fix the problem by replacing the battery in my original PKE, and purchasing / programming a new one. The symptom occurs with both the new PKE and the old one, nothing changes.

Any advise would be great. I've read many posts about the PKE having problems, but none that seem to have the same issue as mine.

The coupe has 2 antennas. They are located in the drivers door & the rear of the hatch.

I suggest you check your door ajar switches & make sure they are functioning properly.

Other than that, I looked in the FSM for 95 & could find none of the symptoms you described. I'm sure another, more knowledgeable, member will come to your aid.
