Pke Stopped

Today my 96 vette's PKE stopped working. The light comes on after I crank up and will not go off. I know from my owner's manual that by pushing the door lock button and holding it that this should cut my system on and off but that is not working. I have replaced my batteries in my remote but I getting nothing. I have alse attempted to reset my PKE as instructed in my manual to recognize my remotes but I get nothing when I try to reset the system.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

PKE sucks

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I tried to reprogram it many times and it never worked. Then one night, around mid-night, I went out there to give it one last shot. Much to my suprise, it started working and has worked everyday since. Keep trying and maybe it will start working

Suggest you take the FOB to a dealer and see if it is actually outputting a signal. They have a way to see if the FOB is putting out a signal. If I remember correctly there is a little ball that activates the FOB and sometimes it goes south. New FOBs are NOT cheap but you can buy on-line for a lot less than dealer will sell you one. I have two FOB remotes for my car. Neither are working. Today I disconnected my battery in hopes that it would possibly reset all my systems and start working. This did not. Kinda crazy when my "Passive Keyless Entry" light stays on I can pull my key out and put it right back in and the light will go out but the remotes still will not work. This all started around the time I reset my "change oil" light on Sunday so I'm not sure that I didn't mess something up while doing this because the sequence is close to set up your PKE.
