I am fixing to change the plugs and wires in my 82 Crossfire. Should I use the standard Delco plug wires are get the 8mm high performance? If I use the 8mm any suggestions on what kind?
Any other tune up tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Delcos are just fine for stock applications. It all depends on how much $$$ you want to spend and how much you want to impress your friends with brightly colored wires...

PLUGWIRES

Thanks for the reply, I am not conerned about looks just performance.

I went with Delco all the way for wires, plugs, coil, rotor and cap. No regrets.

Any quality 8mm spiral core wire is an improvement over stock. I use Accel, but MSD, Moroso and others are equally good IMHO. Accel is not expensive, I paid around $45 for a set of Super Stock Hi-Temp 8mm silicone, custom fit for my 81. If you plan on upgrading your coil to a Super HEI, then the good wires are an absolute must.

A couple of the plugs on my Edelbrock heads are very close to the headers on my 81 and I went through four sets of wires in the first few times I ran it. I tried various sets from cheap AC Delco to the present ACCEL 300+ sleeved wires which cost me an outrageous $120 over here.

I can honestly say when they were ok untill one of them eventually burnt through there was no difference in performance or at least none you would notice.
