Poly vs rubber bushings?

I rebuilt the suspension on my 64 this winter and used the urethane bushing kit from Mid America and also the full touring suspension kit they offer. The prices were fair and the new ride and stance is awesome. The old 64 parts were very tired so I really can't say that the urethane bushings differ from rubber. All I know is everyone seems to push urethane and the price isn't that much more, so why not?? I really didn't realize how bad my old girl was riding and handling until that first ride with the new parts...now she is a great riding car again.

You MUST have slight clearance between the bushings and the washers on the ends. If you don't, they start to squeak.

Where did you come up with this idea?

Poly Or Rubber

Just for some usless information, I remember when if you wanted to have the best handling 60s cars the marketing people convinced us that BRASS bushings instead of Rubber was that hot suspension performance trick... you see where that went!:L
