Ok, im on the slow bus today..
why poor man's Chrome?

Rain

hahahahahahaha

look at my car, this is the poor man's polished wheel.
for now :L

why PMC because we can't pay the big $$$$ so we just put a lot of elbow grease into the wheels.

you should have seen them before I took the clear off.

How did you remove the clear coat? Is there an easy way vs a hard way, or a right vs wrong way to do so?

IF YOUR NOT AFRAID TO GET DIRTY

1. paint stripper
2.clean very well
3.then clean very well with a fine scotch brite pad
4. use some flithz with a buffing wheel, and die grinder

this is your best, cheapest way, and will look like a pro did it.

not sure but might have spelled FLITHZ WRONG.

Yep. Its Flitz:upthumbs :cool :D

"Home Polishing" is a popular mod among motorcyclists. Aftermarket wheels for motorcycles cost around $1,500+ for the least expensive ones! So most just polish their factory wheels. It's really not that difficult to do. All it takes is patience, time, and elbow grease. Of course us corvette guys need to repeat 3 times!

I did that to my wheels on my 86, and they came out pretty good. However a year has gone by and they have lost some luster although i polish them with flitz. Is there anything better than flitz. My bro has an 87 and he hasn't redone the wheels and he polished his with Eagle One Never Dull one time and they are twice as shiney as mine. Does anyone have any suggestions.

thanks
