power antenna

Do you just need a replacement mast? They're under $30 at the dealer. If you need the entire motor assembly, try Eckler's, Mid-America Motoroworks, etc...

Ironically I just replaced the mast on my 92 this morning. If you can hear the motor run and the antennae does'nt move, its a real good chance the nylon cable has broken. A mast repair kit is available. I bought mine from Ecklers, $34 + shipping. Although the kit says you can change it while the motor is still mounted in the car, I think you would be better off taking the cover for the drive cable gears off and removing the broken pieces from inside. My cable had 2 broken pcs inside.

Does anyone have any tricks for pulling out the old antenna mast? Mine is in very tight and tug and yank as I may it will not come loose. I've removed the nut on top with no trouble at all and turned on the radio but it will just not come loose. I guess the only thing is to try and losen it up with some penatrating
lube.I still can't get the thing to let loose. The part of the job that should be the easiest is turning out to be an SOB!
Well I got it out and the new one in. I had to use a small screwdriver to pry and push on the lip of the antenna coller and it finally let loose. The only problem now is that the new mast is still an inch above the body when in the full down position.Anyone got any tricks to make the mast go down that extra inch,I can live with it but....
