Power Locks

My power locks do not operate. Could someone give a new owner some troubleshooting / repair tips?? I have a 1980.

The lock switches are connected together in the wiring harness and are both grounded on the passenger side. Most power door lock problems are caused by worn switch contacts or wires breaking off the switch connector. I would get some new switches first and replace the originals. They are about $20.00 each. You will have to take the door panels off to get to them. If the wires are falling off the connector, they should be fairly easy to find.
