Power Steering Cylinder Pain

I bought a rebuild kit and it seemed pretty simple. Took the snap ring out and they say the rod, seal and wiper will all pull out. Sure it will. I put this thing in the vise and slammed it like a slide hammer and it won't budge. I did get the seal out but thats it. I can see another part with numbers on it like a seal or something. I really didnt need to rebuild this but I figured while it was out why not. Now its probably ruined from slide pounding it. What am I missing?

Try prying out/moving the seals with a flathead screwdriver...I thought I had to slam out the piston as well, but some poking with the screwdriver did the trick...

Did you get the kit from Zip? Did they send you directions?
