Hello, I noticed that my PS cylinder is leaking. Too much even for some Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak. I was going to buy a new one but at $300+ I decided to give it some thought. I can buy it cheaper out of the USA on ebay or Eckler's but after the exchange rate, shipping, duties, etc etc... It still would be about $200.
I can get a rebuild kit for under $50.00 My questions are...
How hard is it to rebuild a Power Steering Cylinder. Any special tools needed? Any tricks to make it easier?
Thanks in advance!

I would not attempt to rebuild it. I got my cylinder and ps valve from VB&P. They are rebuilt themselves. They mention the new ones are actually less quality than the rebuilds.
Also the shaft might be worn down to the point that the rebuild seal kit and all will not be sufficient, and you will start to see leaks again sooner than later.
Plus you can return you old core for a refund.

I would give it try to rebuild it, since the kit is under $20.00. Thats a lot cheaper than a rebuilt, and I had no trouble doing mine. I bought my kit from ZIP products.
