Got a leak in my power steering valve and was thinking of swapping it out for a new one. Anybody know how difficult a job that is? Are there any steering alignment isssues to deal with?

Should go pretty good!

It should go fairly easily, pay attention to where the old hoses are attached, make a drawing of how all the hoses are hooked up and get some flare wrenches so you dont strip the fittings as you loosen and tighten then.
Borrow a pickle fork from your auto parts dealer so you can get it loose from the pitman arm. PG.

I would suggest using a pitman arm puller rather than a pickle fork.
The pickle fork requires swinging a large hammer and trying to pry the pitman arm off.
The puller requires turning a wrench until it pops off.

Just a warning, when my pitman arm did come off, it made a very loud popping noise and I thought the car was about to fall off the jack stand.
I was pretty startled.

Honestly not a hard job, but it could be time consuming.

Make sure you screw the new control valve all the way on, or else your steering wheel will no longer be aligned with the wheels.

Good Luck!

If there's a grease fitting on the replacement control valve, DO NOT grease it - most valves come with a warning card saying not to grease it or it voids the warranty, and some others just have a plug in the hole.
