Power Steering

On a 73 350 Vette, how hard is it and how much would it cost to change from power steering to manual steering? I want to shed the weight and not have the power drag on the engine. Thanks

There's zero power consumption unless you're turning at low speed; no pressure is generated in the hydraulic system until the ball stud in the control valve senses a minimum 50# lateral load in the steering linkage.

The additional weight is only 21#.
