The normal operation of a power window (passenger) is to hold the button and when the window has reached it limit, the motor will stop. Recently, my motor does not stop, and if I keep the button depressed, it sounds like the gears are trying to strip themselves. I suspect there is a limit switch inside the door that cuts off the motor when the window reaches it limit up or limit down. Has anyone been inside the door - is this an easy fix, or expensive?

All I can tell you is what is inside my 84....yes their is a limit switch that is adjustable. Yours may have become loose. Looks like its time to get your hands soiled.

It sounds as tho you may have two problems...the first being that the hand toggle switch is defective....the seccond being the up limit switch is either defective or is out of adjustment....the best way to find all the information on this is to go to the Search menu and type in "window problems"...there you will find a step by step way to do the work

hope this helps

One advantage I have here is the time difference between Turkey and USA. I think we are 8 hours or so ahead of the US east coast. If I find a question that I can help with I respond to it while you folks are asleep :)

I am happy you found it helpful. There is so much about the Corvette on the internet. That makes Corvette a more loveable car :) :) :)

Cheers,

Selim
