Power window problem

I'm having a problem with my drivers side power window blowing fuses. The switch is OK. When I test the connector that plugs into the switch with the motor connector attached there is a dead short. If I unplug the motor connector the short goes away. The strange thing is that there is no continuity across the motor leads. Is this a bad motor? Any other ideas?

The motor has 2 connections, 1 is up and 1 is down. Use the ohm meter to check from 1 terminal to ground and then the other to ground

Thanks - Turns out there is continuity (short) between the motor leads. I assume this indicates a bad motor correct? Do you have any tips on making the replacement easier?

The problem occurs at the commutator where the brushes touch.
The copper can get gouged if the brushes wear out and the springs touch the comm.
When one field winding of the motor touches another, the load increases and the fuse blows.
Do a search for "power windows" , and in the C3 group there are a lot of threads on motor replacement.
