Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with or heard of the Predator programmer? Just saw one advertised for 99-03 C5s and it sounded better than any I have seen. Wanted to check it out first before spending the money.

Hi there,
Unless you have major mods, Predator is really not a major performance modification.
Not only that, you must be aware that you cannot update your programming from GM, when newer calibrations are needed.
Also, if the program is not installed in accordance with GM guidelines, the possibility is there that you may damage the PCM or other computers in the communications circuit.
I do not recommend this course of action.

Hey c4c5

Just a thought, could I take my car to the dealer,it's a 1999, and have them update the program and realise a performance gain ?

Thanks again c4c5. I think I will leave well enough alone for now. I plan to do the heads and cam in about 8-9 months and will reprogram then.

Hi Les,
I would say that you may not see or feel a performance gain.
Normally, recalibrations of the engine control computer are due to updated emissions control issues, changes in fuel formulation, which require a different program to run better, or other things.
If for some reason, you may be experiencing a condition, I would at least have it checked.
Checking it out only takes about 15 mins, however, correct programming procedure will take about 1 hour.
It never hurts to check.
