As of February 23, 2004, the Corvette Action Center has developed some accurate intelligence on C6 performance. At GM's Proving Grounds, development testing has resulted in a 2005 Z51 Targa going 0-60 in 4.2-sec. and a base Targa doing it in 4.3-sec. The quarter mile performance of the Z51 was 12.6-sec at 115 mph and observed top speed was 186 mph.

Wow, those are pretty good numbers for a "base" model car. Any idea who did the testing?

I can't wait to see what the Z06 numbers would be. :D

Just think. Exhaust change and a gear swap=low 12's or high 11's. Then a heads and cam job! WOW low 11's possible.

Those are some pretty impressive numbers. I am sure that the aftermarket people get their hands on product you will see even faster numbers.

Those numbers are impressive.....Do you believe they are good enough to justify trading in a C5 for a C6 ? The reason I ask is because I am debating between keeping mine, buying a C5 or buying a C6...I just can't come to grips with parting with mine...I've been trying for 2 years...lol.....My LT1 has been so reliable that I sometimes take it to the garage for a check-up just because I feel so guilty....lol

Hm, and everyone was saying you would never get ZO6 performance out of a coupe or convertible.
Ask, and you shall receive.
Looks like ZO6 is secretly dressed up as a C6.

;LOL ;LOL ;LOL I wonder what they'll tell us next.

"Hey, the fugly license plate mount was a big rib" would be nice.

I guess sales in the states that require front plates might be lower than expected.......I wouldn't drive a brand new C6 with a front end looking like that !!!!.....I'm sure aftermarket companies will do a good job of creating a plate holder that looks ok.

I wouldent put a front plate on. I would drive around with it off and if I got a fix it ticket, i would put it on, pay the ticket, and take it off again.
