My passenger side actuator seems to be sticking. It will lock but sometimes has a difficulty unlocking. It's like it doesn't move the slider all the way. Whats involved in changing out of of these? Never been inside a C4 door before...

Thanks
Steve

You may not have to change it, I had the same problem with both of my doors when I got the car. I took the interior trim and inner door apart, and found that everything was covered in years of dust covered grease. If you can hear your actuators move, they may be all right. They don't seem to have a lot of force even when they work well.

I cleaned all of the linkages and surfaces of the mechanism, greased everything good where it slides or connects, put it all back together and both work good.

If you need info on taking the door apart, look here:

Bose Speaker Removal

I wrote some instructions for removing the speakers. That will give you enough access to clean or inspect or replace whatever you need.

It's not the actuator... Also it is very clean inside the door. The linkage was binding up on the door panel... When it was apart it slapped open and closed. Put it all back together and it works perfectly.. strange..
