Hi,

My passenger side window is acting a bit. When I'm closing the window (electric) when it gets way to the top it's like the electric motor turning but nothings happening. the window won't go all the way. I actually have to pull the window to help de motor to bring the window all the way up. And then when I try to bring the window down. it's not takin it. I have to push down on the window to start the window to go down. I do not have any problems when the window is all the way down or in the middle. I can bring the window down and up all the time but as soon as I get to about 1 inch from the top I will have to help the windows to go down or up.

Is this a problem with the Motor. the electric motor seams to work good. the window goes down and up quick. But just when it gets on top it fu***ks up!!

I've grease all the railing today but didn't help one bit. could it be a gear? Please help,

thanks

Sounds like some gears stripped out on the regulator. Have you checked it out or had it out? I had mine a few years ago and put new grease on everything, it sure made them go up and down faster.

Could be gears, could be the spring, could have gotten out of adjustment, could be bad rollers, or a combination of all of the above.

I have the instructions on my web site for servicing this things.

My money is on stripped regulator gear. If it is, you can get a repair kit for like $40. The catalog makes it sound like you don't need to take it all out, but you do. Still not that bad. Good luck!

Probably a gear as all are saying. Easiest way to tell is to take off the door skin. If its the spring...it will be in the bottom of the door. if its the gear you'll see it.

My passenger window was messing up and it turned out that the screws that hold the motor were loose and missing one....i fixed it and it goes up and down fine now.....not sure if yours is doing what mine did, but check them screws.

I'm having a similar problem.
The window is up but if I hit the switch to lower, the window goes down a inch and stops with a high pitch whirling sound.

I have to pull it up by hand but the motor catches again at the last 1/2 inch to close the window.

I guess the motor is fine but gears are worn? I'm thinking about getting a Power Window rebuild kit from Mid America.

Any suggestions would be appriecated!

take the door panel off and have a look at it before ordering parts. as mentioned on the other post it may be something else.

Sounds like the gear. Or the motor is loose and bouncing off the gear. You need to open it up and look. It could also be the regulator...thats the part the window attaches to.

Thanks for the advise, I'll pop the door this weekend and see what is up.
