You Want Rare?

I am very interested in those numbers as I have one of those few cars with the LT4/FE1 suspension. However, if you want rare, try and find a CE here in Canada. According to GM records, only 83 CEs were brought in for the whole of Canada! So a CE here is indeed a rare bird. Only 203 1996 coupes in total (including CEs) were brought into Canada. Not many compared to the total production run.

So maybe someone can help me out. FE1 is the base suspension. F45 is the the middle option and then Z51 is the top option? What are the differences from function standpoint? Which suspensions are adjustable? Is there a significant difference in ride?

I'm in the market for an LT4 CE and I was wondering about which suspensions were most common.

hello ..to awnser your question: the fe1 is the base suspension=soft ride you get the 17x8.5 front wheels and 17x9.5 rear wheels smaller stabilizer bars softer billstein shocks the f45 is the electronically adjustable suspension wich adjusts itself depending in road condition softer to firm via sensor in each corner of the suspension of the car..the z51 suspension wast the h.d. one wich has stiffer leaf springs h.d. billstein shocks 17x9.5 wheels in all corners bigger stabilizer bars in fron and back..if u want something rare try getting a collector edition with the red interior and lt4 and suspension wise oi guess its up to you depending on how firm or soft u want your ride 2 be..

I own a 96 silver coupe, gray int lt4. How do I determine what suspension it has? I'm the 2nd owner and the Vette was originally a lease and didn't have a window sticker.

check on the storage bin behind the passenger seat there shoyld be a sticker with a bunch of 3digit codes look for this codes:
FE1, F45 or Z51..one of those 3 codes will be on the sticker
FE1 the base suspension soft ride
F45 the electronically control suspension (soft to firm)
Z51 performance suspension firm ride

Mike, you can get an original window sticker for your car by contacting the NCM (National Corvette Museum). With your VIN they can pull the info and print a copy. May be worth it to you.

if u want something rare try getting a collector edition with the red interior and lt4 and suspension wise oi guess its up to you depending on how firm or soft u want your ride 2 be..

I ordered and then picked up my 1996 CE Coupe in the spring of 1996.

Yes, that is a Torch Red interior along with the LT4 engine / ZF 6 speed manual transmission. (All LT1 engines were fitted with the 4 speed automatic transmission.)

I have the F45 Electronic Suspension package. Also, every option available in 1996 including Spare Tire Delete.

Any takers?

OK Greg, what gives? This is the second inference about selling the CE.....:w

Tom, thanks for the question.

My Vette is on the market. If you know of anyone who would like to own a phenomenal piece of Corvette history, please let me know. I will definitely include you in the action. :upthumbs

Back at ya! :w

nice set up..so how much is the asking price for this nice ride>???

Thanks for the question.

I have not established an asking price.

Anyone who knows these cars knows how much something like this would be worth.

I am the original owner.

The car has been impeccably maintained by myself.

I owned and operated an auto and truck mechanical repair shop for over twenty (20) years.

My LT4 engine is putting out almost 400 horsepower at the crankshaft.

I will be taking pictures and then listing the car on several Corvette sites.

I have seen new cars that were not this nice.

Greg are you getting out of Corvette ownership or just looking to upgrade?

Thank you, John! Very nice of you to say this! :cool!:

I am going to upgrade to probably a C6. LT4man would NEVER get out of Corvette ownership! :beer

I would say: slim to none! :D

I could throw the Vette in WITH the emblem, but that might be costly...........:rotfl

Did you sell it? I just bought one last month.

Where did you get the LT4 badge?
