Now that CAC is back up and running I can post some pictures of my progress with the engine rebuild. I’m just waiting on a few parts to button it up. The oil pump I ordered did not fit the stock oil pan so that’s on its way. Also, the ARP rocker arm studs did not allow enough clearance with the guide plats. The rockers were bottoming out on the radius of the stud. I ordered a set of studs made by Crane; they look like they will work. I guess I find out in a day or two. Anyway, during my wait I got a chance to clean up some parts. Take a look at the intake and valve covers below.

Looking good Tim...
Are you going back with the orange paint?? Look fwd to seeing it all done and gussied up!

The only thing better then a new motor on an engine stand is that day your doing your first fire, Nervously leaning over the fenders trying to get the timing close so it doesnt spit flames at you, smelling all of the oils and fresh paint burning, running around looking for leaks, Knowing its only a little bit more time till your driving it.

I LOVE TO WORK ON CARS!

Have fun and be safe

I still find it hard to believe, but I actually know that feeling now! :D

Good Evening. Your valve covers really look great can you tell me what you used to clean them up. Thanks

I cleaned them up in my blast media cabinet using glass bead then washed them down with soap and water. I was really surprised how good they look. Perfectly clean with a satin like finish to them. I used the same clean-up method on the intake too. :cool
