A young guy and his girl coming out of the store. The guy says "Cool, a 'Vette". The girlfriend says "It's kinda old".
The guy says back, "Doesn't matter. It's still a Corvette"

Kind of made me feel :J.

Once I had locked my keys in my Vette and had to wait for a locksmith to arrive. In a normal car I would have been bored to tears,but not when I'm with my Vette. I had a unlimited supply of people to chat with. Even when the locksmith arrived he and his friend spent 15 mins talking with me about it.

Oh BTW, they completely ignored a group of custom Harleys parked right behind my baby.

My wife says its a nice car for it's age. Every time I do something new to it I always take her out to the garage (want her to feel included) and she gives me the nod and a thats nice honey and goes back in the house. At times I know she thinks I am in love with the car more than I am with her..???? hmmmm

I get complimented on my car at least twice a week. Gas stations, stoplights, parking lots, etc. When people see me near my car they will make some comment. They marvel when I lift the hood, and they hover above the engine, studying it and asking all kinds of questions. I point out the fiberglass front spring and they can't quite believe it. They look at the leather seats and they study the paint, and everyone, EVERYONE always asks "how fast have you driven it?". Sometimes as I walk back to my car I see tourists taking pictures of it, usually they're Japanese or Australian, sometimes European. My car is sixteen years old and gets this much attention, it's quite puzzling really. I guess the Corvette really does have a lot of universal appeal.

I get allot of compliments but many think mine is brand new, as it looks new.
I don't think the average person knows the years of Corvettes.

Over here in Euro Land it gets to be annoying. The owner of RE drives a fully race prepared Ferrari and his brother drives an Austin Martin. When the three cars are parked together my ragged old Vette gets the most attention. If I leave Thunder in a parking lot for 15 min when I get back there are greasy marks on the windows where people have tried to look inside.
