If any can help explain how the block numbers work. Being a novice...
...The numbers I see on this website for 327ci is 389257 for block numbers for 1966. Does this mean all block numbers for 327ci are 389257 for 1966 327ci.

3858174 is the correct block casting number for '66 Corvette 327's, although some very late cars may have used the 3892657 (which was used for '67 327's).
