I just started to restore my 72 coupe and the more I'm into the project the more I'm getting a better idea about what i want to do with the car. The car is a matching numbers. It still has all of it's parts meaning that the car was never molested, not even a chrome trim is missing. I know that the definition of matching numbers can differ a lot from one to another.
my problem is that i'm not sure that I want to restore the car showroom condition. What if I want to upgrade the suspension for example? Ill keep the original parts just in case I rebuild it in later years.
Will this be numeraly correct?
Gee! I feel that this could get complicated! LOL

It really depends on what you want the car for, which way to go on your restoration. My $.02 is build it the way you want it, save the origional parts if you must; If you are building a driver upgrade the suspension, driveline etc then get out and drive the wheels off it.
My 76 has parts from more years and vehicles then I can remember, and there are more sitting on a shelf waiting.;) but then the 76 is the "Rodney Dangerfield" of Corvettes.

my advise is never throw anything away,it dosent cost you anything to keep the parts you take off.

Yep, I guess that I'll build it the way I want (I wonder why I was worrying about it I always end up doing what I want anyways! LOL) and store the original parts.
Is'nt that what hot rodding all about?
Thanks guys.
