Question about speedometers

What years did C3's have speedometers that had 165mph as the top speed?

I think I found my own answer, it would appear that its an after market part. I imagine the early C3's had higher than my 85mph top speed!

A 78 or early 79 140mph speedometer would work in your 82

I've never seen 165. My Vette goes to 160; Camaro goes to 150.

There is an aftermarket conversion to change yours to a 165 MPH but the face is only marked in 10 MPH increments. I would think that would make it hard to tell what speed your going in town. The 140 MPH if better. Its marks in increments of 5 MPH.

...I've never seen 165. My Vette goes to 160...

Same for my '68; 160. Can't count the '80; she pegs at 85.
