Anyone had experience with Nitto tires? I am thinking of purchasing a set for the rear of my 2000 vert. I will be getting non-run flats whatever I buy, but I was interested in whether anyone on the forum has used them and if so, how about wear, price, etc. Also, would there be a problem going to a wider tread? I think the Nitto comes in 275 configuration which is a little wider. How wide can we go with the stock rims with out clearance problems, etc? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Ron,
I just installed the Nitto 555's in stock sizes (245-45-17 and 275-40-18) on my 03' Coupe, and I cannot believe the difference in ride, noise levels and handling. I've only driven the car a little over 100 miles since they were installed, but a Buddy of mine has a set on his 99' with over 40,000 miles logged, and they are still going strong. Paid $818 out the door at America's tire!

Bill's 03 Coupe, Thanks for the timely reply to my request about Nitto tires. I goofed when I listed the size comment as 275's being the larger size; this is the stock size,(duh!) and what I meant to say ask was: can we move up to a wider size such as a 285 series if there is such a size available in the Nitto lineup? You information was exactly was I was looking for, thanks again.

I think the 275's are the widest made in the Nitto 555's. They may have a wider version in the 555r's which is a softer, racing compound, but your milage will suffer greatly. 285's will fit the stock rims.

Ron,
It depends on what type of Nitto are you getting and if it is for the street or for the track?
