Good afternoon all,
I have come across another midyear that I am considering purchasing I would like to get opinions on its value:

'66 Coupe, 327 Powerglide, PS,PB, Dark Blue, Blue int. Same owner for 25 years, all numbers and dates match, except has Holley carb and wrong air cleaner.

Fiberglass Glass is exceptionally nice, paint is poor. Drives, older SS brakes, needs some detailing but most of the fasteners have never been touched. Honest 70K mile car.

One more thing, is a power antenna standard or optional on this car? It has one.

This car is not being advertised and I have the first shot at it. I need another vette like I need a hole in the head, but it may be tough for me to to pass up.

thanks in advance,

John

Exactly $27,412.87 give or take ten grand depending on engine, condition, completeness etc. etc. Please hold the car closer to the screen so we can all have an actual look at it. :D Sorry just kidding.

Pretty hard to come up with meaningful number without more details. Why not consult one of the many on-line car value guessulators to get a general idea.

Not sure about the antenna, but didn't think any midyear came with a power unit.

John,

The car sounds like an interesting one, worth checking into further.

Since a power antenna was on midyears (definitely not in '67 though), and doesn't show up on the RPO list, I can only guess that it was standard equipment for some years -- '65 and '66 maybe?

The best way to get more specific feedback is to post some photos.

it's very difficult to judge a value without knowing the exact condition of things like the frame, especially the birdcage, motor, which motor it is, interior, etc.
how much on the car besides the motor is original and how much are possibly incorrect replacement parts.
how is the underside including suspension, bearings, shocks, etc.
You need to consider all this to determine how much, if any, you will need to invest in the car.

can you supply more details and maybe pics?

can't answer for other years, but in '65 a power antenna was standard and in '67 a non-power was the only type.

More details, I went over this car closely

Frame is solid but a little scaly, dates are good on rad, overflow tank glass, block, alternator, manifolds, french locks still on exh manifolds, birdcage at windshield corners and "a" pillars good, everything works. No glass repair, no stress cracks even at front inside corners of hood surround, body very straight, you can even read the very light depressions at the horizontal bonding lines that was visible when these cars wre new. 300hp HO code motor has VIN and correct letter code. As stated in my first post, it appears that most of the fasteners have never had a wrench on them. Documented 70Kmiles.

Car has been stored on jackstands under frame.

I am not looking for a solid price from you guys, just opinions based on the facts as I present them. It seems to me with paint this could be a $30K (US). Am I way off?

Sorry, no photos.

may be a dumb question but............
if it's been on jackstands and stored, how long has it been stored and does it actually run??

if it runs good and the rest is as you describe, with new paint (and a good condition interior) it should be worth 30k
