Can anyone out there tell this NOOB (that'll be me) the difference betwwen stingray and sting-ray apart from the dash in the corvettes?

Sting Ray (2 words) was used on the C2's (63-67) cars.

Stingray (one word) was brought back and used starting in '69 (wasn't used in '68 at all on either spelling) and used thru 1976 model year.

On the '68 there was no emblems but in Chevy ads and lit the '68 Vette was referred to as a "Sting Ray" (two words).

Cheers m8, thanks for the info. I couldn't find an answer where ever I looked. Bye the way, reading your little motto was quite enjoyable....hehe

Havachat,

I used the search feature to locate this thread because I finally found the reference BarryK quoted you. I knew I had read it before but couldn't recall where.

I found it in the Glossary of Terms in front of my Corvette Black Book by Mike Antonick. You may want to try and locate a copy of this for yourself. It makes for great reading and an excellent reference on every model year Corvette.

I've seen them on Ebay, bookstore websites, and the National Corvette Museum Store.
