1993 40th Anniversary Corvette Topic

Well If I would have paid attention I would have answered most of my questions from this link. Very handy and I will use these codes to compare the RPO codes on the car.

Also $12K is what I had in mind but that was before I learned there was a 2nd set of rims and tires for the car. I like the color on these and somthing totaly different than my black Grand National's. I belive the Vette will corner a little better than the old Brick. ;)

Thanks for the help!!

Well 2k can buy a decent set of wheels and tires... I'd still offer 12k for the car, and maybe go up to 13k. Assuming very good condition and evidence of care in maintenance.

Best wishes on your success! We'll need pix of course!

Oh, you might want to drive a few others before you drive this one. Because if you never drove one before, you are gonna want the first one you drive. But if you KNOW the first one you drive is not the one you want, then maybe you will escape...

Be very analytical and calm about this purchase. You can scream like a girl and do cartwheels after you find the right one

Thanks in advance for the responses. As you can see, 1st post and this would be my first Vette!:)

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center!

Here's another item you should take a look at - and even print out to have on hand - while you're looking!

Buying A Corvette Checklist!

This is an excellent checklist which will assist you in looking over a possible purchase at a time when Corvette Fever may be clouding the brain cells and keeping you from asking the right questions. ;)

All kidding aside, it's a great resource when looking at a Corvette to purchase.

Also, if you pass on the '93 and look at another, here's the CAC Tech Center (Click me) and CAC Model Center (Click me) with loads of links and information.

And last but not least, here's a link to our New Member Introduction Forum (Click me). Post a new thread there and give more of our community a chance to stop by and say hello.

Good hunting!

Ruby 6-speed convertible hardtop

My wife and I are looking at a Ruby Red convert with hardtop and six-speed. Am curious about production number of this combination, and if there are any common problems with this vintage car. It has approx 50K miles. Thanks. :)
There were 133 shipped from the factory in 1993. Go to rubyregistry to do your research. I don't think a ride option was available? Check it out.

Well I bought a 40th. Felt like a good purchase but the ZR-1 style polished wheels will be comming off since the original wheels with tires are included. The polished ones dont do much for me.

I did offer way less to see if they would bite but ended up in this range with the extra set of wheels. I noticed a few small issues but those were used for negotiating. They also had a 94 Coupe with 66K miles and it was my choice at the same price. Went with the Ruby drop top.

I will try to post a pic......

Thanks for the help. P.S these wheels and probably tires will be for sale.

I could not drive it home since I had my GN with me and we need to pick up the extra set of wheels. I am thinking about dropping the top and letting my wife drive it home. Maybe then this look will be removed from her face :mad...............

Absolutely Beautiful!!!

Congrats, and I hope it treats you well! :thumb:thumb:thumb

Thanks for all of the help.

I used to think the spool of a Buick V6 Intercooled Turbo at 15# boost was sweet music but the roar from that SBC LT1 could in fact be a much better song !

and both are in my garage!:thumb:thumb:thumb

I am sure at some point I will want to listen to the radio in this baby, but the problem is, it is an aftermarket stereo and no one can figure out how to take it off mute. Is there an audio section on this site because I could use some help!

Thanks again!

Get the model number off the unit and find the website for the manufacturer. You should be able to download a .PDF file of the entire manual, and print it out if you want.

Yellow and black mute wire was bare. All fixed now. I still have not listened to too many tunes yet. I like the sound of the engine:thumb:thumb

Thanks
