Please do. I am really new to this. Thanks very much. :thumb (Quicksilver)
That's what we're here for... one quick move for Quicksilver coming right up! ;)

Welcome Quicksilver.
What do you mean by flat hood? are you talking about something like an early C3 small-block hood or an 80+ hood?
I don't think either one will fit a 76 though without a lot of work. Plus there will be carb clearance issues I think.

Good afternoon White 75,

A friend of mine is trying to locate this hood style. The flat hood, if it was ever made, would be easier to mount the large size hood scoop he needs to cover the blower he has attached to the small block.

Thank you for your interest, Quicksilver:beer

Thanks for the info, I will pass it on. For some reason my friend was convinced that there was a hood that was flatter. My 73 seemed to have the same hood as the 78, but I told him I would ask anyway.

Thanks again, :beer

The 73- 79 were pretty much the same. The 73-75 were actual cowl induction hoods with a door that opened from a switch under the gas pedal. Exterior they looked the same as yours. You can get some high cowl hoods in the aftermarket but it sounds like you are looking for the SB 68-72 hoods, which are shorter then the 73-79s

Thanks for the imput,

Would the 1980, 81, or 82 hood fit? They seem to have much less of a profile than the 73 through through 79 and might be easier to work with.

Thanks, Q:thumb

Not sure they will fit, I never attempted to swap those out.

...Would the 1980, 81, or 82 hood fit?...

Any of the three will bolt up, but hood latch placement and hardware might vary. These hoods might be lower profile than earlier hoods, but not by much. The hoods are not flat. Your friend does not want the 82 hood; it's configured for the Crossfire and has underside ducting he won't want to fool with.

Thanks very much for all the info.

Since I have already given my friend the web address, he can see that this is a good source of information with helpful individuals. He should join now, too.

Thanks again,

Rick, Quicksilver:cool!:
