Since I'm re-doing much of the cooling system anyway, I figure it's a good idea to replace the radiator cap while I'm at it.

A couple questions: does anyone make a nice radiator cap with a Corvette logo on it? I think that would look great.

Also, I recall seeing a cap that had a magnesium anode hanging under it, to help protect against corrosion of the aluminum components. I seem to recall that it was supposed to be sold by Zip, but I can't find it in their catalog. In any case, does anyone have an opinion on these?

The "dangling anode" cap doesn't do much, and doesn't address the root cause of corrosion in an iron/aluminum cooling system; the most important thing you can do is to run a 50-50 mix of anti-freeze and change it every two years. It doesn't lose its freeze protection capability over time, but the anti-corrosion inhibitor additive package loses its strength as it does its job and needs to be renewed. Aluminum radiators are expen$ive, can't be repaired, and the only thng that protects them is a reasonably fresh anti-freeze mix.
