I thought that this was an extinct problem (for my '85): but when I play my radio in AM mode, I can get engine static in sync with RPM's!!! I have Taylor wires, 8mm, which are new, and new Accel dist. cap. So what's going on?? I thought with new modern ignition systems this was as old as Jurassic Park. Any ideas?? thanks :confused

Changing current in a wire causes Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). Since spark plugs are pulsed a lot of rfi is generated. The metal body of most cars help to shield this noise, but our fiberglass bodies don’t help at all. Resistor plugs, spiral wound wires & shielding all help. A strong radio station (local) will help lessen the impact. Until sparks are eliminated noise will be something to live with. Of course another solution is a louder exhaust and turn the radio off. :D Good luck

There's a noise filter under the rotor inside the distributor I believe. A small cylinder looking thing. Try either replacing that or buy an aftermarket one.
